How it works
Ray is a funded tourist wallet with a Shetab card, sold and handed over by named agents. Below is the traveller path we are building — passport-only, phone-first, Arabic RTL.
1. Create an account with your phone
Accounts are keyed on a phone number. Registration, login, and recovery complete without email. This PoC uses FakeOtp (code in the API server log) — no real SMS.
2. Passport-only verification
Submit a passport image plus a short video of you reading the passport number. Staff approve or reject by hand. Approve unlocks card request. Reject is explained in your language. No Iranian residency or local address required.
3. Choose a named agent
Browse by country and city. Each agent has a name, meeting point, hours, and WhatsApp. You arrange funding and card collection in that thread. In-app messenger is not required if WhatsApp covers it.
4. Fund before departure or top up after arrival
The agent confirms cash or FX received; operations credits the wallet against that confirmation. Replaying the same confirmation does not credit twice. Receipt photo and per-agent limits are part of the hardening path.
5. Convert with the spread shown up front
You see a quote with the headline spread before converting. Committing posts ledger rows that store rate, spread, and quote id. Rate source may be staff-entered or a live feed — the display of spread is not optional.
6. Collect the Shetab card
After KYC approve you request a card. The agent marks plastic handed over to the passport holder. Card status moves to collected only after that record. PAN/CVV never sit in Ray’s database — token and last four only.
7. Spend, freeze, and see every move
Pay at ordinary Iranian merchants (POS), use ATM where available (limits are tight — we do not overclaim cash), freeze or unfreeze from the app, and read a complete history: POS, ATM, top-up, conversion, off-ramp, reversals.
8. Cash leftover balance back
Request return of remaining rial through an agent. A quote (rate + spread) is shown and stored. The agent pays cash in the agreed currency. Foreign-account payout is a later item — agent cash-out remains.
