FAQ
Straight answers aligned with the product requirements. No inflated claims.
What is Ray?
A funded tourist wallet with a Shetab card, sold and handed over by named agents. One job in v1: fund, convert, spend at ordinary Iranian merchants, see every transaction, and get leftover rial back.
Who is it for?
Arabic-speaking inbound leisure and pilgrimage travellers — Iraq first, then Oman and the GCC, including Mashhad pilgrimage traffic. Western independents are not the design centre of v1. Health tourists are a later product (v1.5).
Do I need an Iranian bank account?
No. Passport-only onboarding. No Iranian residency, national ID, or local address.
How do I get the card?
Not postal. You pick a named agent, arrange funding and handover (WhatsApp is enough), and collect plastic in person. The agent records that the card was given to the passport holder.
How are rates and fees shown?
The conversion spread is a headline figure wherever rates appear — not fine print. Exact rate, spread, and quote id are stored with the ledger. We do not publish a commercial fee schedule as fact while numbers are still open; demo figures are illustrative.
Can I withdraw lots of cash?
Do not plan on it. Daily ATM limits are tight even for locals; most spending in Iran is POS. Ray must never overclaim cash withdrawal.
Is Ray licensed / which bank issues the card?
Until a licence, regulator relationship, and partner bank are signed, we do not name any of them as fact — in this site, the app, or demos. The binding risk is the bank relationship; Stage 1 is a go/no-go gate.
Do you have user counts or testimonials?
No. Ray has no customers yet. There are no testimonials, install counts, transaction volumes, or ratings to cite. Any figure in a demo must be labelled illustrative.
What languages?
Arabic RTL is a hard requirement for travellers. English exists for staff and partners. Persian ships in the same pass when practical.
How do I get support?
Human WhatsApp — not a chatbot. Outbound spend notifications may use WhatsApp or SMS; support stays human.
